Garrett G42 Turbo

The new Garrett G42 turbos offer automotive enthusiasts a new range of quick spooling, high horsepower boost solutions. The new G-series billet compressor wheel redefines what we thought was possible for a given airflow range, flowing +10% gain compared to the outgoing GTX42 turbo it replaces.

Features

  • GARRETT® G SERIES COMPRESSOR AERODYNAMICS FOR MAXIMUM HORSEPOWER
  • FULLY MACHINED SPEED SENSOR AND PRESSURE PORTS
  • NEW TURBINE WHEEL AERO FOR INCREASED EFFICIENCY AND FLOW
  • STAINLESS STEEL TURBINE HOUSINGS

The turbos feature a new compact dual-piston ring center housing with a lightweight aluminum backplate. The dual-piston design reduces the likeliness of oil leakage from the center housing. A new oil deflector redirects oil away from the compressor stage seals reducing the possibility of oil leakage through the seals. Internally it features the 10mm ceramic dual ball bearing cartridge found in the GTX42.

Keeping things cool are the single inlet and outlet -6AN water ports.

Both the compressor wheel and turbine wheel have been improved over previous models. The new design increases flow and greatly improves efficiency. The turbine wheel now flows 10% more and has a peak efficiency of 77%. The improvements were achieved by lightening the wheel, without any negative effect on durability. With improvements on both the compressor side and the turbine side, you’ll be able to make more horsepower in the same package.

It’s available in v-band and divided T4 inlet stainless steel turbine housings.

The turbo is offered in a number of different applications and sizes. The G42 is good for engine sizes from 2 liter to 8 liter. The G42-1200 is good for up to 1,200 horsepower. If you need more power the G42-1450 is rated to 1450 horsepower.
